FISHERIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1997 (SECTION 23) REGULATIONS, 1998.

I, MICHAEL WOODS, Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 (3) of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1997 (No. 23 of 1997), as adapted by the Marine (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 301 of 1997 ), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1997 (Section 23) Regulations, 1998.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 31st day of March, 1998.

2. The organisations specified in the Schedule to these Regulations are hereby prescribed for the purposes of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1997 (No. 23 of 1997).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations prescribe certain organisations for the purpose of enabling them to nominate persons from whom the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources may appoint the 6 ordinary members of the Aquaculture Licences Appeals Board under section 23 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1997 (No. 23).
