THE FIRE SERVICES COUNCIL (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1983 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 2000

THE FIRE SERVICES COUNCIL (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1983 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 2000

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3(8) of the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1971 as applied by section 16(5) of the Fire Services Act, 1981 hereby orders as follows:--

1. Article 4(2) of the Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 is hereby amended by the substitution of “five years” for “two years”.

2. This Order may be cited as the Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 (Amendment) Order, 2000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order extends the maximum term of office of members of the Fire Services Council from two years to five years.
