HEALTH AND CHILDREN (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 2000.

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Health and Children and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977) , hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health and Children (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 2000.

2. The powers and duties of the Minister for Health and Children conferred on him by or under the enactments specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby delegated to Tom Moffatt, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children.

SCHEDULE

Section 5 and Part V of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) ;

Food Standards Act, 1974 ( No. 11 of 1974 );

Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, 1875 to 1936;

Milk and Dairies Acts, 1935 to 1988;

Sections 6, 7(2) and 10(2)(a) of the Health (Nursing Homes) Act, 1990 (No. 23 of 1990) ;

Section 20 of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act, 1998 ( No. 29 of 1998 ).

This order delegates to Tom Moffatt, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children the Statutory powers and duties of the Minister for Health and Children mentioned in the Order.
