Oil Pollution OF The Sea (Civil Liability And Compensation) (Convention Countries) Order, 2000


I, Frank Fahey, Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Oil Pollution of the Sea (Civil Liability and Compensation) Act, 1988 ( No. 11 of 1988 ) (as amended by the Oil Pollution of the Sea (Civil Liability and Compensation) (Amendment) Act, 1998 (No. 13 of 1998) , and as adapted by the Marine (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 301 of 1997 )), hereby order as follows:

1.     (1)    This Order may be cited as the Oil Pollution of the Sea (Civil Liability and Compensation) (Convention Countries) Order, 2000.

(2)    This Order shall come into operation on the 11th day of October 2000.

2.     It is hereby declared that -

(a)    each of the states specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order has accepted the Liability Convention,

(b)    each of the states specified in Part II of that Schedule has accepted the Fund Convention.
