The Foot and Mouth (Restriction on Movement) (No. 4) (Amendment) Order 2001 |

I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 13 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) , and Article 41 of the Foot and Mouth Disease Order, 1956 ( S.I. No.324 of 1956 ), hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth (Restriction on Movement) (No.4) (Amendment) Order, 2001 |
||||||
2. The Foot and Mouth (Restriction on Movement) (No.4) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No. 63 of 2001 ) is amended by the substitution for the definition of “area” of the following definition -- |

“‘area’ means that part of County Louth (other than the area to which the Foot and Mouth (Restriction on Movement) (No.2) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No. 62 of 2001 ) applies) that lies northwards of an imaginary line drawn from the mouth of the Fane River to Clermont Bridge and from there onwards to the cross-roads at Carnroe and from there to the cross-roads at Balrobin and from there to the Post Office at Hackballs Cross and from there continued westwards along the whole of the road known as the N 53 to the land frontier of the State;”. |

The effect of this Order is to extend the control area provided for in ‘The Foot and Mouth (Restriction on Movement) (No.4) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No. 63 of 2001 )’ to a wider area of Co. Louth. |
