PASSPORTS ACT 2008 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2008

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 24th October, 2008.

I, MICHEÁL MARTIN, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Passports Act 2008 (No. 4 of 2008), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Passports Act 2008 (Commencement) Order 2008.

2. The 1st day of November 2008 is appointed as the day on which the Passports Act 2008 (No. 4 of 2008), other than subsections (8) and (9) of section 14, comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order fixes 1 November, 2008 as the date on which the provisions of the Passports Act 2008 (other than section 14, subsections (8) and (9)), now being commenced, come into operation.
