I, BRIAN COWEN, Taoiseach and Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the section 28 of the Passports Act 2008 (No. 4 of 2008), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations: |
||
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations 2011. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 11 April 2011. |
||
2. The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations 2001 ( S.I. No. 117 of 2001 ) (as amended by the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations 2010 ( S.I. No. 365 of 2010 ) are amended by the substitution of the Schedule set out in the Schedule to these Regulations for Part 1 of the Second Schedule. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
||
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) |
||
The purpose of these Regulations is to amend the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations 2001, as amended, to provide for the re-introduction of passport fees for over 65s and the increase of new administration fees in respect of applications not submitted through a diplomatic mission or consular post or through a special arrangement for the express processing of passport applications entered into between the Minister and providers of postal services. |
