I, EOGHAN MURPHY, Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of section 1 of the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 (No. 17 of 2016) (as adapted by the Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 358 of 2017 )), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 (Section 27) (Commencement) Order 2018. | ||
2. The 1st day of January 2019 is appointed to be the day on which section 27 of the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 (No. 17 of 2016) shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||

In this Order the Minister appoints 1 January 2019 as the date on which section 27 of the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 (No. 17 of 2016) comes into operation. | ||
Section 27 of the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 makes amendments to the Planning and Development Act 2000 (No. 30 of 2000) that are consequential to the insertion of sections 176A to 176C into the Act of 2000, relating to determinations, in advance of making a planning application, as to whether an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is required in respect of a proposed development |
