S.I. No. 324/2021 - Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (Judicial Remuneration) (Section 46(9A)) Order 2021


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 6th July, 2021.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (9A) of section 46 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (No. 39 of 1961), and having had regard to the matter specified in paragraph (b) of that subsection, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (Judicial Remuneration) (Section 46(9A)) Order 2021.

2. This Order shall come into operation on 1 July 2021.

3. This Order applies to a judge whose appointment to the judicial office concerned occurred on or after the commencement of section 10 of the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Amendment) Act 2011 (No. 39 of 2011).

4. The annual sum payable by way of remuneration to a judge holding a judicial office specified in column (1) of the Schedule in respect of whom not more than 1 year has elapsed since his or her appointment to that office is the sum specified in column (2) of that Schedule opposite the judicial office specified in column (1).

5. The annual sum payable by way of remuneration to a judge holding a judicial office specified in column (1) of the Schedule in respect of whom more than 1 year but not more than 2 years have elapsed since his or her appointment to that office is the sum specified in column (3) of that Schedule opposite the judicial office specified in column (1).

6. The annual sum payable by way of remuneration to a judge holding a judicial office specified in column (1) of the Schedule in respect of whom more than 2 years have elapsed since his or her appointment to that office is the sum specified in column (4) of that Schedule opposite the judicial office specified in column (1).
