I, HEATHER HUMPHREYS, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (4) of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (No. 37 of 2023), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (Section 15(b)) (Commencement) Order 2024. | ||
2. The 17th day of June 2024 is appointed as the day on which section 15 (b) of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (No. 37 of 2023) shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||
(This note is not a part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation). | ||
This Order provides for the commencement of section 15 (b) of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 . | ||
Section 15(b) amends the regulation making powers in the provisions that underpin the Credit Union Personal Micro Credit Loan Scheme, known as ‘It Makes Sense’, to bring the interest rate into alignment with the maximum interest rate specified by order of the Minister for Finance under section 38 of the Credit Union Act 1997 . |
