ATTEMPTED RAPE, ETC., ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1960 ATTEMPTED RAPE, ETC., ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1960 - LONG TITLE An Act to authorise increased sentences for attempted rape or assult with intent to rape. [31st May 1960] punishment for attempted rape. ATTEMPTED RAPE, ETC., ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1960 - SECT 1 1. Where a person is convicted of an attempt to commit rape, the court may sentence him to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years.[ ATTEMPTED RAPE, ETC., ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1960 - SECT 2 Assult with intent to commit rape. 2. Any person who assaults any female with intent to commit rape shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years.] ATTEMPTED RAPE, ETC., ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1960 - SECT 3 Citation. 3.
