Provisions as to superannuantion of officers. 8.(1) The provisions of the Superannuation Acts, 1834 to 1919, and of the Superannuation Acts (Northern Ireland), 1921 to 1925, shall apply to any officer employed in the criminal lunatic asylum, Northern Ireland, and being an officer of such class as may be prescribed under the Superannuation (Prison Officers) Act, 1919. (2) Where an officer has been employed in a pensionable capacity in a district lunatic asylum, and has been appointed to be an officer of the criminal lunatic asylum, Northern Ireland, with the consent of the Ministry of Finance, and having been so appointed is an officer of a class prescribed under the Superannuation (Prison Officers) Act, 1919, the Ministry of Finance may, for the purposes of the Superannuation Acts mentioned in the last preceding sub-section, reckon the service of such officer whilst employed in a district lunatic asylum as if it had been service in the criminal lunatic asylum, Northern Ireland.
