DOGS REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1919 DOGS REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1919 - LONG TITLE An Act to amend the Dogs Regulation (Ireland) Act, 1865. [23rd December 1919] Increase of dogs' licence duty. DOGS REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1919 - SECT 1 1.(1) The licence duty payable for a dog licence under the Dogs Regulation (Ireland) Act, 1865 (in this Act referred to as the "principal Act"), shall be at the rate of [20p] instead of [10p] for each dog. Subs.(2) rep. by SLR 1927 DOGS REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1919 - SECT 2 Amendment of ss.6 and 20 of principal Act as to the taking out and duration of licences. 2.(1) A licence for a dog for any licensing year may be taken out within three months before the commencement of such year or at any time during such year, but, if it is taken out during such year, it shall not affect any liability already incurred by any person for having the dog in his possession or custody without a licence. (2) Every licence shall expire at the end of the licensing year for which it is taken out, whether it is taken out before or after the commencement of such year. (3) A licence shall not be required for any dog whilst it is under the age of one month. Subs.(4) rep. by SLR 1927 DOGS REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1919 - SECT 3 Regulations. 3. The Lord Lieutenant may make regulations for prescribing anything requiring to be prescribed for the purposes of this Act and for making such adaptations of the forms in the Schedules to the principal Act as may be necessary, and generally for carrying the principal Act and this Act into effect. S.4 rep. by 1954 c.9 (NI) s.29 sch.7 DOGS REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1919 - SECT 5 Interpretation, construction and citation. 5.(1) In this Act the expression "licensing year" means the twelve months ending the thirty-first day of March. (2) This Act may be cited as the Dogs Regulation (Ireland) Act, 1919, and the principal Act and this Act shall be construed together and may be cited together as the Dogs Regulation (Ireland) Acts, 1865 and 1919.
