HEALTH SERVICES (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1967 - LONG TITLE

An Act to provide for the transfer to the Ministry of Health and
Social Services of certain functions and property of the Northern
Ireland Hospitals Authority and the Northern Ireland General Health
Services Board and to make further provision with respect to the
functions of the Ministry, the Authority and the Board; to make
further provision with respect to certain hospitals and with respect
to the remuneration of medical practitioners and officers of the
Authority and of the Board; to facilitate the financing of premises
and equipment used by practitioners providing general medical
services; to amend and extend the Health Services Acts (Northern
Ireland) 1948 to 1963 and the Mental Health Act (Northern Ireland)
1961; and for purposes connected with those matters.

Transfer to the Ministry of certain functions of the Authority.

2. As from the appointed day, it shall be the duty of the
Ministry to exercise the functions which immediately before that day
were exercisable by the Northern Ireland Hospitals Authority (in this
Act referred to as "the Authority") under the provisions of ...

Interpretation.

17. In this Act

"Act of 1961" has the meaning assigned to it by section 2;

"the Authority" has the meaning assigned to it by section 2;

"the Minister" means the Minister of Health and Social Services and
"Ministry" shall be construed accordingly.

Short title.

19.(1) This Act may be cited as the Health Services (Amendment) Act
