LIBEL ACT 1845 - LONG TITLE

An Act to amend the Libel Act 1843.{1}
[31st July 1845]
Preamble, which recites the Libel Act 1843 (c.96), rep. by SLR
1891. S.1 rep. by SLR 1892

LIBEL ACT 1845 - SECT 2
Defendant not to plead matters allowed by 1843 c.96 without payment
into court.

2. It shall not be competent to any defendant in such action, ...
in Ireland, to file any such plea, without at the same time making
a payment of money into court by way of amends..., but every such
plea so filed without payment of money into court shall be deemed
a nullity, and may be treated as such by the plaintiff in the
action.
