Faulty plans. 19.(1) If, in the case of any mine, the Ministry is satisfied that a plan, section or drawing which by virtue of the foregoing provisions of this Act is kept by the manager of that mine is inaccurate, incomplete, dilapidated or wholly or partly indecipherable and that, in the interests of safety, it is desirable for a new plan, section or drawing to be made, the Ministry may appoint a surveyor to make a new plan, section or drawing. (2) The following provisions shall have effect where a surveyor is appointed under subsection (1) to make a new plan, section or drawing in the case of a mine: (a)the owner and the manager of the mine shall afford to the surveyor all necessary facilities and information for the purpose of making the new plan, section or drawing; (b)on the completion of the new plan, section or drawing, it shall be sent to the manager of the mine; and (c)the cost of making the new plan, section or drawing, or such part of that cost as the Ministry thinks fit, shall be recoverable by the Ministry from the owner of the mine summarily as a debt.
