81.(1) Where an order is made under Article 79 and immediately before the date on which the order became operative, there was under, in, on, over, along or across the right of way a telegraphic line belonging to or used by the Post Office, the Post Office shall, subject to paragraph (2), have the same powers in respect of that line as if the order had not become operative. (2) If the Ministry requires that the telegraphic line should be altered, paragraphs (1) to (8) of section 7 of the Telegraph Act 1878 shall apply to the alteration, and accordingly shall have effect, subject to any necessary modifications, as if references therein to undertakers included references to the Ministry. (3) If the Post Office removes the telegraphic line or any part of it and serves a notice on the Ministry notifying the Ministry of the removal, the Post Office shall be entitled to recover from the Ministry the expense of providing, in substitution for the line or part and any telegraphic line connected therewith which is rendered useless in consequence of the removal of the line or part, a telegraphic line in such other place as the Post Office may require. (4) In this Article "telegraphic line" and "alter" have the same meanings as in the Telegraph Act 1878.
