WILLS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1954 WILLS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1954 - LONG TITLE An Act to amend the law with respect to certain wills made in contemplation of marriage. [22nd June 1954] Wills in contemplation of marriage. WILLS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1954 - SECT 1 1.(1) A will expressed to be made in contemplation of a marriage shall, notwithstanding anything in section eighteen of the Wills Act, 1837, or any other statutory provision or rule of law to the contrary, not be revoked by the solemnization of the marriage contemplated. (2) This section only applies to wills made after the commencement of this Act. WILLS (AMENDMENT) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1954 - SECT 2 Short title. 2.(1) This Act may be cited as the Wills (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland), 1954 (2) This Act shall be construed as one with the Wills Act, 1837.
