LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002

	Made	13th May 2002
	Affirmed by resolution of the Assembly on	17th June 2002
	Coming into operation in accordance with Article 1(2)

The Department of the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 3(1) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Local Government &c. (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[1] and now vested in it[2] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002.

    (2) This Order shall come into operation on the day after it is approved by a resolution of the Assembly.

General Grant
     2. For the purpose of paragraph 3(1) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Local Government &c. (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 the districts specified for the year ending 31st March 2003 shall be the districts listed below -

Antrim	Coleraine	Newtownabbey
Ards	Craigavon	North Down
Ballymena	Derry[3]	Omagh
Carrickfergus	Larne	Strabane
Castlereagh	Lisburn

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order specifies those districts which are to be taken into account in calculating the standard penny rate products for the year ending 31st March 2003 for the purpose of computing the resources element of the grant made from central funds by the Department of the Environment to district councils (Article 2).
