The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 129 of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 2014(1), makes the following Order:
1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government (2014 Act) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2014.
(2) In this Order any reference to a numbered section is a reference to the section of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 2014.
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of-
(a)section 38 (regulations about standing orders);
(b)section 53 (code of conduct);
(c)section 124 (supplementary and transitional provisions for the purposes of this Act and other purposes); and
(d)section 127 (regulations and orders)
is 20th May 2014.
