Coming into operation
at 4.00 a.m. on 29th August 2020
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (Amendment No. 8) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 and shall come into operation at 4.00 am on 29th August 2020.
(2) In these Regulations, "the principal Regulations" means the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020(3).
2.-(1) The principal Regulations are amended in accordance with regulations 3 to 5.
(2) In relation to any person who arrived in Northern Ireland on or after 10th July 2020 and before the coming into operation of any amendment made by regulation 4 the principal Regulations apply as if that amendment had not been made.
3. In Schedule 2, in Part 2 (Persons not required to comply with regulation 4), in paragraph 4D(4), after "the Merchant Shipping Act 1995" insert ", or by a government of a relevant British possession as defined in section 313(1) of that Act".
4. In Schedule 3(5) (Exempt countries and territories)-
(a)at the appropriate place in alphabetical order, insert "Cuba"; and
(b)omit "Czech Republic", "Jamaica" and "Switzerland".
5. For Schedule 4 (Specified competitions), substitute-

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 ("The International Travel Regulations").
Regulation 2 amends the exemption for inspectors and surveyors of ships so that inspectors or surveyors appointed by a relevant British possession are exempt from the requirement to self isolate in regulation 4 of the principal Regulations and, if they meet the condition in paragraph 4G of Schedule 2 to those Regulations, the requirement to provide information in regulation 3 of the principal Regulations.
Cuba is added to the list of countries and territories in Schedule 3 to the International Travel Regulations exempt from the requirement in regulation 4 of those Regulations to self-isolate for 14 days after arrival in Northern Ireland.
Czech Republic, Jamaica and Switzerland are omitted from the list of countries and territories in Schedule 3 to the International Travel Regulations exempt from the requirement in regulation 4 of those Regulations to self-isolate for 14 days after arrival in Northern Ireland.
An updated Schedule 4 replaces the existing Schedule 4.
No impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations.
