The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(2) the Police and Fire Services (Finance) (Scotland) Act 2001[1], hereby make the following Order: Citation 1. This Order may be cited as the Police and Fire Services (Finance) (Scotland) Act 2001 (Commencement) Order 2002. Appointed day 2. 11th March 2002 is the day appointed for the coming into force, so far as not already in force, of the Police and Fire Services (Finance) (Scotland) Act 2001. JAMES WALLACE A member of the Scottish Executive St Andrew's House, Edinburgh 4th March 2002 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings the provisions of the Police and Fire Services (Finance) (Scotland) Act 2001 ("the 2001 Act"), in so far as not already in force, into force on 11th March 2002. The 2001 Act makes provision about the carrying forward by police authorities, joint police boards and joint fire boards of unspent balances from one financial year to the next.
