The Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007

  Laid before the Scottish Parliament 8th February 2007 
  Coming into force 2nd March 2007 

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 20(6) and 63(1) of the Clean Air Act 1993[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and extent
     1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007 and come into force on 2nd March 2007.

    (2) These Regulations extend to Scotland only.

Amendments to the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) (Scotland) Regulations 2001
    
2. —(1) Schedule 1 (authorised fuels) to the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) (Scotland) Regulations 2001[2] is amended as follows.

    (2) After paragraph 6, insert–

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations, which extend to Scotland only, amend the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) (Scotland) Regulations 2001.

They introduce new paragraphs 6A (describing Briteflame briquettes) and 32A (describing an additional type of ZIP Firelogs) to Schedule 1 to those Regulations (regulation 2). Fuels listed in that Schedule are authorised fuels for the purposes of the Clean Air Act 1993.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for these Regulations as they have no impact on the costs of business.
