PUBLIC ORDER

The Football Banning Orders (Regulated Football Matches) (Scotland) Order 2007

  Made 27th February 2007 
  Laid before the Scottish Parliament 1st March 2007 
  Coming into force 1st April 2007 

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 55(4) of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Football Banning Orders (Regulated Football Matches) (Scotland) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 1st April 2007.

Regulated football matches
    
2. In section 55(3) of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 (descriptions of regulated football matches), after paragraph (a) there is inserted–

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order, which comes into force on the 1st April 2007, modifies section 55(3) of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 ("the 2006 Act").

Article 2 adds to the categories of regulated matches listed in section 55(3) of the 2006 Act any match involving a club whose national football association is a member of, or affiliated to the Federation Internationale de Football Associations (FIFA), where the match is part of a competition or tournament organised by or under the authority of FIFA, or the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
