The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 45(2) of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 3) Regulations 2018 and come into force on 9th February 2018.
2. 9th February 2018 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016:-
(a)section 8 (adult carers: identification of outcomes and needs for support); and
(b)section 14 (young carers: identification of outcomes and needs for support).

These Regulations bring into force certain provisions of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 ("the Act"). The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 9th March 2016. Sections 41 to 43, 45 and 46 came into force on the day after Royal Assent.
Regulation 2 appoints 9th February 2018 as the day for the coming into force of sections 8 and 14 of the Act.

The following provisions of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 ("the Act") have been brought into force by commencement regulations made before the date of these Regulations. Regulation 4 of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2 and Savings Provision) Regulations 2017 provides that the remainder of the Act comes into force on 1st April 2018, in so far as not already in force.
