Summary: The complainant requested information of the costs incurred during the making of the BBC programme series -˜Conning the Conmen-™ as well as the costs of the particular episode in which he appeared. The BBC argued that the information was derogated and not subject to the Freedom of Information Act. The Commissioner has decided that the information is derogated as it is held to a significant extent for the purposes of journalism art or literature. Therefore the BBC was not obliged to comply with parts I to V of the Act in relation to the requested information.
