Electoral Commission (Decision Notice) [2010] UKICO FS50241687 (06 May 2010)

Summary: The complainant requested information relating to investigations carried out by the public authority into donations made to and work carried out for the Conservative Party. The public authority refused the request and cited the exemption provided by section 30(1)(a)(i) (information relating to investigations). The Commissioner concludes that this exemption was applied correctly and the public authority is not required to take any steps. However, the Commissioner also finds that the public authority failed to comply with the procedural requirements of sections 10(1), 17(1) and 17(3)(b) in its handling of the request.
Section of Act/EIR & Finding: FOI 10 - Complaint Upheld, FOI 17 - Complaint Upheld, FOI 30 - Complaint Not upheld
