Summary: The complainant made a number of requests to King-™s College Cambridge, focusing on a number of issues relating to King-™s College School. The College stated that it did not hold any information in its own right. However, it refused to discuss whether any of the requested information was held by the School. Its position was that the School was not part of the College, and as it was an independent school it was not subject to the Act. Therefore it was not required to provide copies of this information. After investigating the case the Commissioner decided that for the purposes of the Act the School is part of the College, and therefore the information held by the School was covered by the provisions of the Act. Therefore the Commissioner requires the College to comply with its duties under section 1 in relation to this information. Finally the Commissioner also decided that the College had not met the requirements of section 10.
