Summary: The complainant requested information from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) relating to the failure of a propeller on HoverTravel-™s Solent Express hovercraft. The request included notes, documents and research and inspection reports relating to the suspension of operations. MCA refused to disclose the information under section 30(2)(a)(i) (investigations and proceedings) of FOIA. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has correctly cited section 30(2)(a)(i). He therefore does not require any steps to be taken.
