BAILII is celebrating 24 years of free online access to the law! Would you consider making a contribution?
No donation is too small. If every visitor before 31 December gives just £5, it will have a significant impact on BAILII's ability to continue providing free access to the law.
Thank you very much for your support!

Summary: The complainant requested a copy of legal advice provided to ACPO and held by the Home Office about the legality of offering speed awareness courses. The Home Office refused to disclose this information under the exemption provided by section 42(1) (legal professional privilege) of the FOIA. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the Home Office cited this exemption correctly and so it is not required to disclose this information. This decision notice is currently under appeal to the Information Tribunal.
