Summary: The complainant has requested information about payments made to senior members of staff on the cessation of their employment with London Borough of Croydon (-the Council-). The requested information was held in compromise agreements and the Council considered it exempt from disclosure under section 40(2). The Information Commissioner-s decision is that the Council was entitled to withhold the information on the basis of section 40(2). He requires no remedial steps to be taken by the Council.
