9 July 2014, Central government
The complainant has requested information relating to high risk families. The Department for Communities and Local Government provided some of the requested information and withheld other information under the exemption for formulation of government policy (section 35 of the FOIA). The Commissioner’s decision is that the Department for Communities and Local Government has correctly applied section 35(1)(a) of the FOIA to withhold the information requested in parts 1 and 3 of the request and that the public interest favours maintaining the exemption. The Commissioner does not require the public authority to take any steps. This decision notice is currently under appeal to the Tribunal. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2014/0200 withdrawn.
FOI 35: Not upheld
