NATIONAL INSURANCE (INDUSTRIAL INJURIES)

The Family Allowances, National Insurance and Industrial Injuries (Refugees) Amendment Order 1965

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 3rd day of August 1965

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas by the Family Allowances, National Insurance and Industrial Injuries (Refugees) Order 1956(1) (hereinafter called "the principal Order") made in pursuance of section 64 of the National Insurance Act 1946, as extended by subsection (1) of section 4 of the Family Allowances and National Insurance Act 1956, and section 85 of the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act 1946, it was ordered that the provisions of a Convention (set out in Schedule 1 to the principal Order) providing for reciprocity with the States specified in Schedule 2 to the principal Order should have effect in relation to matters specified in the said sections and subsection, and that the enactments referred to in the principal Order should be modified accordingly:

And whereas since the coming into operation of the principal Order the said Convention has been ratified or acceded to by the States specified in column (1) of the Schedule hereto and their instruments of ratification or accession were deposited on the dates respectively specified opposite to those States in column (2) of that Schedule and the Convention has accordingly come into operation as regards those States on the dates respectively specified opposite to those States in column (3) of that Schedule:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of the said section 64 of the National Insurance Act 1946, as so extended, and the said section 85 of the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act 1946, and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-

Citation and interpretation

1. This Order, which may be cited as the Family Allowances, National Insurance and Industrial Injuries (Refugees) Amendment Order 1965, shall be read as one with the principal Order.

Amendment of Schedule 2 to the principal Order

2. At the end of Schedule 2 to the principal Order (which Schedule specifies the States by which the said Convention has been ratified or acceded to, as the case may be, and the respective dates of the deposit of such ratification or accession and of the coming into operation of the said Convention as regards those States) there shall be added-

(a)in continuation of column (1), the names of the States set out in column (1) of the Schedule hereto in the order in which they are so set out;

(b)in continuation of column (2), the dates set out in column (2) of the Schedule hereto in the order in which they are so set out;

(c)in continuation of column (3), the dates set out in column (3) of the Schedule hereto in the order in which they are so set out.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends Schedule 2 to the Family Allowances, National Insurance and Industrial Injuries (Refugees) Order 1956 by adding the names of those States which have, since the coming into operation of the Order of 1956 (7th November 1956) ratified or acceded to the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees dated 28th July 1951.
