These Regulations amend the Police Cadets (Pensions) Regulations 1973 with effect from 1st April 1980 (retrospection is authorised by sections 12 and 15 of the Superannuation Act 1972). Under Regulation 5(3)(a) of the 1973 Regulations an ill-health pension payable to a police cadet is reduced by an amount calculated at an annual rate obtained by multiplying £1.70 by the number of years of pensionable service which the cadet is entitled to reckon. These Regulations amend this by limiting the reduction to service before 1st April 1980.
the relevant amending instrument is S.I. 1979/75.
