EXPLANATORY NOTE

Regulation 10(1)(b) of the Statutory Instruments Regulations 1947 requires the preparation of an Annual Numerical and Issue List of Public Statutory Instruments but statutory instruments are not divided into public and private instruments and the word "Public" is otiose. Regulation 2 of these Regulations therefore deletes the word.

The Schedule to the 1947 Regulations specifies documents made under a number of enactments as being excluded from section 1(2) of the Statutory Instruments Act 1946 and they are thus not statutory instruments. Most of these enactments have been repealed or have expired, and Regulation 3 of these Regulations replaces the Schedule with a new Schedule from which the repealed and expired enactments have been omitted.

S.I. 1968/1656.

(2)

S.I.1948/1; the relevant amending instrument is S.I. 1977/641.
