6th May 1987
1. The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.
3. The length of the Trunk Road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Durham that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.
4. In this Order-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
5. This Order shall come into force on 6th May 1987 and may be cited as the (A19) East of Snaith-York-Thirsk-Stockton-on-Tees-Sunderland Trunk Road (Burnhope Way Roundabout Grade Separated Junction) Order 1987.

A route about 1545 metres in length (between the points marked "A" and "B" on the deposited plan) starting at a point on the Trunk Road about 754 metres south of the centre point of the Burnhope Way Roundabout central island and going in a generally northern direction to a point about 791 metres north of that centre point, all in the District of Easington in the County of Durham.
The length of the Trunk Road ceasing to be a trunk road, is that length which comprises the carriageway of Burnhope Way Roundabout, at Peterlee in the District of Easington in the County of Durham.
