Whereas the West Yorkshire Residuary Body, acting pursuant to section 67(2) of the Local Government Act 1985(1), has submitted further proposals to the Secretary of State for the transfer of certain of its properties to local authorities, and he has decided to give effect to those proposals:
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 67(3) of that Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reorganisation (Property) (No.2) (West Yorkshire) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 7th November 1988.
2. There shall vest in each local authority mentioned in the Schedule to this Order -
(a)all interests of the West Yorkshire Residuary Body in the property so mentioned in relation to that local authority; and
(b)all rights and liabilities of that Body acquired or incurred exclusively in connection with that property.

The Local Government Reorganisation (Property) (West Yorkshire) Orders 1987 and 1988 (S.I. 1987/15, 1451 and 1988/751) transferred specified property formerly vested in West Yorkshire County Council and in the West Yorkshire Residuary Body to certain of the district councils in that county. This Order makes further transfers of the same kind.
With one exception, article 2 transfers the property described in the Schedule, together with ancillary rights and liabilities, from the Residuary Body to the council of the district in which the property is situated. The exception relates to the Materials Testing Laboratory, Ossett, Wakefield, which is transferred to Leeds City Council.
