The Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) The Newtown-Aberystwyth Trunk Road (A44) (Trunk Roads and Junction Improvements, Llangurig) Order 1989

6th October 1989

The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:-�

1. The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.

2. The centre lines of the new trunk roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.

3. The length of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall become an unclassified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Powys that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.

4. In this Order:-�

(i)"the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/2 WO.60 marked "The Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) The Newtown-Aberystwyth Trunk Road (A44) (Trunk Roads and Junction Improvements, Llangurig) Order 1989", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Wales and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;

(ii)"the new trunk roads" means the highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order and "a new trunk road" means one of those highways;

(iii)"the trunk roads" means the Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) and the Newtown-Aberystwyth Trunk Road (A44).

5. This Order shall come into force on 6th October 1989, and may be cited as the Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road (A470) The Newtown-Aberystwyth Trunk Road (A44) (Trunk Roads and Junctions Improvement, Llangurig) Order 1989.

SCHEDULE 1ROUTES OF THE NEW TRUNK ROADS

The routes of the new trunk roads are routes south of Llangurig in the County of Powys as follows:-�

1. a route about 280 metres in length starting at a point about 98 metres north-east of the property known as "Felin Fawr" then going in a general north-easterly direction to a point about 365 metres north-east of the property known as "Felin Fawr"; and

2. a route about 117 metres in length starting at a point about 595 metres north-east of the property known as "Felin Fawr" then going in a general north-easterly direction to a point about 710 metres north-east of the property known as "Felin Fawr".

SCHEDULE 2LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD

The length of trunk road ceasing to be trunk road is that length of the A470 Trunk Road which is situated between the junction of the A470 Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road and the A44 Newtown-Aberystwyth Trunk Road in Llangurig Village and a point about 489 metres east of the Old Vicarage, Llangurig, Llanidloes, Powys.
