(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Combined Probation Areas Order 1986 so as to change the number of justices appointed to the Lancashire Probation Committee for some of the petty sessional divisions in Lancashire. The petty sessional division of Burnley will appoint 3 justices instead of 2; Darwen will appoint 2 instead of 1; Fylde 2 instead of 1; Ormskirk 3 instead of 2; Preston 3 instead of 4; Ribble Valley 2 instead of 1 and South Ribble 3 instead of 2.
The effect of the Order is to increase the number of justices on the Committee from 35 to 40.
