The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33(2) and (3) of the Petroleum and Submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975(1)and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after giving those persons affected an opportunity of being heard with respect to the matter, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Submarine Pipe-lines (Designated Owners) (No. 35) Order 1989, and shall come into force on 19th January 1990.
2. In this Order-
"the Act" means the Petroleum and Submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975;
"Leman 49/26 BT" means the offshore installation known as the Leman 49/26 BT platform which is situated above the Leman gasfield, east of the coast of Norfolk;
"Leman 49/27 BT" means the offshore installation known as the Leman 49/27 BT platform which is situated above the Leman gasfield, east of the coast of Norfolk;
"Block" means an area described or specified, in a notice published in the London Gazette, the Edinburgh Gazette and the Belfast Gazette for the purposes of regulations made under section 6 of the Petroleum (Production) Act 1934(2), by reference to a map deposited at the principal office of the Department of Energy, and at such other places (if any) as may be specified in the notice being an area to which a reference number is assigned and in respect of which the Secretary of State is prepared to receive applications pursuant to the regulations;
"the pipe-line" means the 30 inch nominal diameter pipe brought into use during 1970 which lies between Leman 49/26 BT and Leman 49/27 BT together with the apparatus and works associated therewith;
"the western part" means the western part of the pipe-line which lies in Block 49/26, between Leman 49/26 BT and the boundary line which divides Blocks 49/26 and 49/27;
and "the eastern part" means the eastern part of the pipe-line which lies in Block 49/27, between Leman 49/27 BT and the boundary line which divides Blocks 49/26 and 49/27.
3. For the purposes of Part III of the Act, except section 33(2), the western part shall be treated as one pipe-line and the eastern part shall be treated as a separate pipe-line.
4. For the purposes of Part III of the Act, the persons specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto are hereby designated as the owners of the western part and the persons specified in Part II of the Schedule hereto are hereby designated as the owners of the eastern part.

This Order designates owners of the pipe-line which lies between the Leman 49/26 BT platform and the Leman 49/27 BT platform, both of which are offshore installations, situated above the Leman gasfield, east of the coast of Norfolk. The companies listed in Part I of the Schedule are designated as owners of the western part of the pipe-line which lies in Block 49/26 between the Leman 49/26 BT platform and the boundary line which divides Blocks 49/26 and 49/27. The companies listed in Part II of the Schedule are designated as owners of that part of the remainder of the pipe-line, the eastern part, which lies in Block 49/27 between the Leman 49/27 BT platform and the boundary line which divides Blocks 49/26 and 49/27.
