The Firemen's Pension Scheme (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1989

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 26 of the Fire Services Act 1947(1), I hereby, with the approval of the Treasury(2) and after consultation with the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council and the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Firemen's Pension Scheme (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st June 1989.

2.-(1) The Scheme set out in Appendix 2 to the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order 1973(3) shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this article.

(2) In article 55(1) (pensionable pay), at the end there shall be added the following provision-�

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order 1973 by limiting the amount of pay which may be counted for the purposes of determining the pensionable pay of a regular fireman to £60,000.
