LAND REGISTRATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 3(2) of the Land Registration Act 1988(1), hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Land Registration Act 1988 (Commencement) Order 1990.
2. The Land Registration Act 1988 shall come into force on 3rd December 1990.

This order brings into force on 3rd December 1990 the Land Registration Act 1988 the main effect of which is to substitute a new section 112 for sections 112 to 112C of the Land Registration Act 1925 (c. 21). The new section provides for the opening of the land register to public inspection and for public inspection of certain other documents at the Land Registry.
