The Secretary of State for Transport as respects England and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 90C(1) and 90D(1) and (2) of the Highways Act 1980(1), and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with sections 90C(6) and 90D(3) of that Act, hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Highways (Road Humps) (Amendment) Regulations 1990, and shall come into force on 22nd August 1990.
2. The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1990(2) are hereby amended so that-
(a)in regulation 4, in paragraph (3), for sub-paragraph (b) there is substituted the following sub-paragraph-
"(b)in respect of the hump, or where there is a series of humps, the first hump in the series, at least one of the requirements specified in paragraph (4) below is satisfied."; and
(b)in regulation 5(2) and (4) for the word "drawing" there is substituted the word "diagram".

These Regulations amend the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1990 (a) so that where there is a series of humps the application of the requirements specified in regulation 4(4) of those regulations is restricted to the first in the series of humps, and (b) to obviate a minor drafting inconsistency.
