The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 10(3)(a) of the Employment Act 1989(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Railway Employment Exemption Regulations 1962 (Revocation) Order 1990, and shall come into force on 15th March 1990.
2. The Railway Employment Exemption Regulations 1962(2) are hereby revoked.

This Order revokes on 15th March 1990 the Railway Employment Exemption Regulations 1962. Those Regulations exempt employment by the British Railways Board on railways as engine cleaners, firemen or signal box lads of male persons who have attained the age of sixteen from section 1(3) of the Emploment of Women, Young Persons, and Children Act 1920 (c. 65) (prohibition on employment of young persons at night in industrial undertakings). Section 1(3) of the 1920 Act is repealed by section 10(1) of, and Part I of Schedule 3 to, the Employment Act 1989.
