In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 10(1) of the Education Act 1944(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Science, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (School Premises) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st January 1991.
2. Part II of Schedule 1 to the Education (School Premises) Regulations 1981(2) shall be amended by the substitution in the heading and in paragraph 3 of "1996" for "1991".

These Regulations amend the Education (School Premises) Regulations 1981 so as to extend the effect of the transitory provisions in Schedule 1 thereto until 1st September 1996.
1944 c. 31; section 10(1) was amended by the Education Reform Act 1988 (c. 40), Schedule 12, Part I, paragraph 1. For the transfer of functions to the Secretary of State see S.I. 1964/490, 1970/1536 and 1978/274.
S.I. 1981/909, to which there are amendments not relevant to these Regulations.
