In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 53(3) of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988(1), and after consultation with the organisations mentioned in section 88(2) of that Act, I hereby make the following Order:-
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Fixed Penalty (Increase) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st April 1990.
(2) This Order applies in relation to a fixed penalty offence alleged to be committed on or after 1st April 1990.
(3) This Order shall not extend to Scotland.
2. For the amount of £24 specified in paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section 53 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 there shall be substituted the amount of £32 and for the amount of £12 specified in paragraph (b) of that subsection there shall be substituted the amount of £16.

This Order increases the amount of the fixed penalty for a fixed penalty offence to £32 from £24, in the case of an offence involving obligatory endorsement, and £16 from £12, in any other case.
