The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 11 and 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Authorities for London Post-Graduate Teaching Hospitals (Establishment and Constitution) Amendment Order 1990 and shall come into force on 2nd May 1990.
2. The Authorities for London Post-Graduate Teaching Hospitals (Establishment and Constitution) Order 1982(2) is amended:
(a)by the substitution for the entry in column (1) in Schedule 1 "The Board of Governors of the National Hospitals for Nervous Diseases" and for the entries in column (2) in that Schedule opposite it of the following-�
"The Board of Governors of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery | The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London WC1 3BG. |
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Maida Vale), 4 Maida Vale, London W9 1TL. | |
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Finchley), Great North Road, East Finchley, London N2 0NW. | |
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery Assessment Unit, Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy, Chalfont St. Peter, Gerrards Cross, Bucks SL9 0RJ. | |
The National Hospital's College of Speech Sciences, Chandler House, 2 Wakefield Street, London WC1N 1PG."; |
(b)by the deletion of the entry in column (2) in Schedule 1 "The Hospital for Sick Children, Tadworth, Surrey";
(c)by the deletion of the entry in column (2) in Schedule 1 "Moorfields Eye Hospital, High Holborn, W.C.1"; and
(d)by the substitution in column (2) in Schedule 2 for the words "Hospitals for Nervous Diseases" of the words "Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery".
3. The change of name effected by article 2(a) of this Order shall not affect any right or obligation of any body or person, and any document or instrument (whether made before or after the coming into force of this Order) which refers to the National Hospitals for Nervous Diseases shall be read as if it referred to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

This Order amends the Authorities for London Post-Graduate Teaching Hospitals (Establishment and Constitution) Order 1982 by changing the name of the former National Hospitals for Nervous Diseases to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
The opportunity has been taken to amend the 1982 Order to reflect the changes in the management of, and responsibility for, services in the hospitals referred to in that Order.
S.I. 1982/314, to which there are amendments not relevant to this Order.
