(This note is not part of the Rules)
By section 11 of the Hearing Aid Council Act 1968, in all proceedings relating to certain matters before the Disciplinary Committee set up under that section, there is required to be present a legal assessor. In view of the powers conferred upon the Committee by the Hearing Aid Council (Amendment) Act 1989 (c. 12) to impose penalties, this Instrument amends the existing 1971 Rules by requiring the presence of such assessor at all proceedings before the Committee relating to the imposition of a penalty.
