The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of his powers under section 73(1)(a), (4) and (6)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Canadian Navigation Services) (Third Amendment) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 1st March 1991.

2. Regulation 4(1) of the Civil Aviation (Canadian Navigation Services) Regulations 1986(2)shall be amended as follows-

(a)in sub-paragraph (a), for the sum of $108.80 Canadian there shall be substituted the sum of $108.15 Canadian;

(b)in sub-paragraph (b), for the sum of $84.15 Canadian there shall be substituted the sum of $83.65 Canadian;

(c)in sub-paragraph (c), for the sum of $54 Canadian there shall be substituted the sum of $53.68 Canadian.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Civil Aviation (Canadian Navigation Services) Regulations 1986, by reducing the charges for air navigation services provided by or on behalf of the Government of Canada as follows:-

1. In respect of each flight between any point in North America and any point outside North America in the course of which the aircraft makes use of air navigation services within the Gander Flight Information Region the charge is reduced from $108.80 Canadian to $108.15 Canadian.

2. In respect of each flight between any two points one of which is in Europe (including Iceland) or Greenland in the course of which the aircraft makes use of air navigation services provided by the Edmonton Area Control Centre the charge is reduced from $84.15 Canadian to $83.65 Canadian.

3. In respect of each flight in the course of which the aircraft makes use of international radio frequencies to obtain telecommunication services provided by or on behalf of the Government of Canada the charge is reduced from $54 to $53.68 Canadian.

Charges under the Regulations are payable to the Civil Aviation Authority which is required to remit them to the Government of Canada.
