The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, the Secretary of State for Scotland, as respects Scotland, and the Secreatry of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 47(7) of the Race Relations Act 1976(1), and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Race Relations Code of Practice (Rented Housing) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 30th April 1991.
2. The day appointed for the coming into effect of the Code of Practice in Rented Housing for the elimination of racial discrimination and the promotion of equal opportunities (ISBN 1-85442-034-8), issued by the Commission for Racial Equality under section 47(7) of the Race Relations Act 1976 is 1st May 1991.

This Order appoints 1st May 1991 as the date on which the Code of Practice for the elimination of racial discrimination and the promotion of equal opportunities in the field of rented housing, issued by the Commission for Racial Equality on 30th January 1991 shall come into force. The Code may be obtained from the Commission at Elliot House, 10-12 Allington Street, London SW1E 5EH.
